Developed to meet the needs of small-part molders, the new ultra-compact TrueBlend\u2122 TB-T<\/a> blender from Conair delivers precise material blends from up to four ingredients at extremely low throughputs \u2013 from just one lb.\/hr. up to 100 lb.\/hr. \u2013 with blend accuracy of \u00bd of one percent. Standing at less than 24 inches tall, this ultra-compact gravimetric batch blender mounts easily on a machine feed throat or on the new Conair TB-T blender stand for use as a central color and additives blender. The new blender is being globally introduced at the Conair booth (W2113) at NPE 2024, May 6-10 in Orlando.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The TB-T blender was designed with high blending precision and easy maintenance in mind. It is equipped with a 7-inch LCD touchscreen control that features Conair\u2019s \u201ccommon control\u201d interface for quick and easy setup. Its microprocessor control can manage multiple loaders and pumps. Like larger Conair blenders, the TB-T relies on \u201cfeed forward\u201d dosing, using multiple small dosing cycles to deliver a more precise material mix into the weigh chamber prior to mixing. The control calibrates after every dosing cycle to compensate for variations in dispense method, resin bulk density or particle geometry.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Unlike some blenders that bolt a material loader directly to the removable hopper \u2013 an arrangement that complicates hopper removal and cleaning \u2013 the TB-T design includes a loader-mounting plate that holds loaders firmly in place above the hoppers, yet allows for independent removal and cleaning of each of four lockable material bins. Each compact hopper (approx. 0.15 cu\/ft capacity) has an integral gate that remains closed during hopper removal, but opens easily for emptying and cleaning, prior to reinstallation.\u00a0 When in operation, each slide gate is connected directly to an air-cylinder rod from the vacuum manifold to ensure positive actuation while eliminating troublesome clevis-pin connections.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSmall-part processors told us that they wanted a batch blender, optimized for low throughputs, that is easy to drain and clean,\u201d says Alan Landers, Blending Product Manager for Conair. \u201cWe\u2019ve developed a hopper design where material loaders can stay in place, yet the hoppers can be easily and independently removed. The compact weigh bin, mix chamber, and mix agitator can also be removed, or cleaned in place using an integral air blow-off hose.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
