Keeping pump filters clean is essential for maintaining proper airflow, protecting system components, and supporting consistent conveying performance. Over time, dust and debris can restrict airflow and place unnecessary strain on your equipment, reducing efficiency and increasing wear. Routine inspection and cleaning help extend equipment life, reduce the risk of downtime, and keep your system operating reliably.
Pump Filter Cleaning Instructions
1. With the pump turned off, unscrew the black hand knob on the filter housing and remove the filter housing.
(Caution: Befor
e performing maintenance or repairs on this product, you should disconnect and lockout electrical power sources to prevent injury from unexpected energization or start-up. A lockable device may be provided to isolate this product from potentially hazardous electricity.)
(Warning: Before removing lockout devices and returning switches to the ON position, make sure that all personnel are clear of the machine, tools have been removed, and all safety guards reinstalled.)
2. Remove the wing nut and cartridge filter from the threaded rod mounting and thoroughly clean it with a vacuum cleaner applied to the outside of the filter. If you use compressed air to clean, be sure to wear eye protection and blow from the inside of the cartridge out.
(Caution: Wear eye protection. If you use compressed air to clean the equipment, you must wear eye protection and observe all OSHA and other safety regulations pertaining to the use of compressed air)
3. Once all the dust is removed, inspect the filter for any tears or damage. If the filter has any tears, is blinded filter media, or is distorted in any manner, it should be replaced immediately.
4. Once the filter is clean and inspected well, place the filter back in the filter housing and ensure that a firm and continuous seal is made around the base of the filter while tightening the securing nut accordingly. Do not crush the filter by overtightening.
5. Replace the filter cover and tighten the black hand knob.
