Conair is unveiling three new products to the Mexican market at Expo Plàsticos 2023, including two new Thermolator® temperature control units (TCUs) and the new DC-B “common” control, which is now available across all Conair mobile and central dryers. These along with the latest in Conair blenders and granulators will be on display in Booth 1400 at the Expo, which takes place March 28-30 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.

With the introduction of its DC-B “common” control across all Conair dryers, including the D100 central dryer displayed at the Expo, the company’s multi-year effort to offer controls with the same look, feel, and interaction style across all of upstream auxiliary equipment is complete. Today, this advanced touchscreen control – available in 7-inch Premium or 4-inch Plus sizes – is now available on TrueBlend™ blenders, SmartFLX conveying controls, Thermolator TCUs, and all Carousel Plus™ dX Series mobile and D Series central drying systems. “By equipping Conair auxiliary equipment with a control platform that shares the same interactions and features, processors can onboard and train equipment operators much more quickly and easily than ever before,” said Sam Rajkovich, Conair’s Vice President, Sales and Marketing.

The common control interface is highlighted on two other products at the Expo, including the new Thermolator TW-T TCU and the TrueBlend 100 Blender, which is mounted on a convenient TBBS Blender Stand with material reservoir. The common control and HMI on the redesigned TW-T Themolator TCU is housed in a 4-inch touchscreen that offers customizable setpoints and performance trending, along with functions such as multi-level user security, brownout monitor with automatic restart, screens for RTD and analog sensor calibration, contextual help screens, and more.

All Conair products equipped with the common control support both OPC-UA (the leading Industry 4.0 communications protocol, supporting the Euromap 82.1 standard), legacy control protocols like MODBUS, as well as SPI communications (RS-485). They also connect to SmartServices, Conair’s unique cloud-based equipment monitoring platform, which allows processors to connect all of their plastics processing equipment through a single, central web-based dashboard for trending and analysis.

Rounding out out Conair’s offerings at the Expo are three other products:

  • Making its Mexico debut is the newly redesigned TW-B Thermolator temperature control unit, a basic, value-priced design that meets general-purpose temperature control needs. All TW-B units feature incoloy heaters; silicon carbide pump seals; pressure gauges; easy-to-use microprocessor controls and tool-free access panels for fast removal. Process line purge is available as an option.
  • A 5-ton EP2A Portable Chiller, with a compact design that features an air-cooled condenser. With capacities from 4 to 43 tons and a choice of air-cooled, water-cooled, or remote condensers, all EP2 chillers feature stainless steel pumps, stainless steel evaporators, and a process fluid circuit built with corrosion-resistant materials to prevent rust and ensure clean, dependable operation for many years.
  • A Viper 6 Series beside-the-press granulator. The most compact in the Viper Series of granulators, this model features tangential feed, hardened cutting chambers and screens; soundproofed hoppers; and solid-core rotors with replaceable knives.

New to Expo Plàstico 2023, the Thermolator® TW-T Series temperature-control unit (TCU) from Conair features a smaller footprint and a 4-inch touchscreen HMI that uses Conair’s “common” control platform, which features the same user interactions across multiple types of auxiliary equipment.
