Employee-led Project/Systems Installation Teams

Anyone who has contracted for a major project or installation knows the anxiety of assuming risk – committing not only your resources, but your expectations, trust, and vision for success well before you can see and judge the outcome.  On every project, from greenfield plant installations to conveying or storage system improvements, to pipe or profile extrusion lines or drying system installations, there are hundreds of details to manage and just as many ways that things can go wrong.

At Conair, we know the feeling.  And, we worry about delivering on your investment, your trust, and expectations from beginning to end.  To do so, we offer the largest array of auxiliary equipment in the world, together with the largest team of project engineering and management professionals in the auxiliary equipment industry.

But that’s not all.  Conair is the only auxiliary equipment supplier that also provides you with dedicated factory installation teams, staffed with 100% Conair direct employees who have come up through the ranks on our factory-based assembly and service teams.  These Conair people know the ins and outs, the nuts and bolts, and all the finer points of how to make equipment and systems that connect, communicate, and perform seamlessly.

Today, five, four-member factory installation teams perform project and systems installations.  Each of these teams are coordinated and supported by factory-based project management plus installation tools and resources. The Project Management team is headed by Supervisor Jeremy Stec, whose experience includes working on in-field installation teams for five of his 20+ years with Conair.  He recruits team members, conducts and certifies their ongoing training, and manages customer relations from project approval through to final acceptance.

Just one desk away is Project Management Dispatcher (and troubleshooter) Jace Junk, who is responsible for installation team scheduling and logistics. He ensures that every team has the equipment (trucks, trailers, tools, registrations, and permits) needed to get to work, and responds quickly to provide any specialty services or equipment needed onsite – crane operators, heavy equipment riggers, forklifts, and the like – from a trusted list of national suppliers.

Every team sets out with an array of equipment, typically a large pickup and an 18-foot trailer housing up to five tons of tools, fasteners, and other materials. Once a team arrives on-site, they’re all business, working 10 days on, and four days off until every job is completed. Initial tasks include the placement and installation of the largest equipment, whether silos, dryers, pumps, chillers, crystallizers, tanks, pullers, cutters, or binsThen, comes the work of connecting and coordinating these many pieces of equipment into working systems – often the most demanding part of the job. This may involve extensive work to plumb conveying tubes and valves, pipe water systems essential to chillers and heat transfer systems, link up the software and electronics needed to operate PLCs and controls, or splice and test the fiber-optic and data-communications networks needed to monitor systems and manage automation on a plant-wide scale.

Like we said – there are hundreds of details and thousands of little things that can go wrongThat’s why Conair sends our best – dedicated full-time installation employees and why every Conair installation team leaves nothing to chance
