Visitors will be able to experience for themselves the features and benefits of many of newest Conair products when they step into Booth 507 at the Plastics Technology Expo 2022, scheduled for March 29 – 31 in the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois.

Several of the products will be equipped with the exclusive Conair common control platform, which offers users the same look and feel regardless of the equipment involved. A SmartFLX conveying system, dX25 mobile dryer, and Thermolator temperature-control unit will all feature the common control, which places all the buttons in the same place on the HMI, with the same names and color schemes. These and other features combine to make the controls easy to operate and minimizes the amount of cross-training required for an operator run different types of equipment.

HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE

Instead of presenting a static display, Conair will allow visitors to operate the controls. The SmartFLX, for instance, will be set up so attendees can to operate the main control panel and also a remote control panel. The SmartFLX is Conair’s latest conveying control featuring new system architecture with a more powerful PLC processor, and an intelligent configurator that simplifies and reduces costs for system design and installation, system expansion, and remote diagnostics. It is a key component in the operation of Conair’s patented variable-speed Wave Conveying system, an RFID-proofed resin-selection station, intelligent truck- and railcar-unloading systems, and more.

The RFID-equipped resin-selection table will be one of the products that visitors will actually be able to operate at the show. Customers can make connection changes and see how the table lights direct them to make the correct connection. They will also see how conveying is disabled until the correct connection is made.

A truck-fill line-proofing system, with barcode-based lock-out, will also be available for interactive evaluation. Attendees will be able to use a barcode scanner to locate and unlock the proper hose coupling so that incoming resin could not be conveyed to an incorrect location.

Finally, show visitors will be able to see a SmartServices®, Conair’s cloud-based Industry 4.0 solution for connecting, monitoring, and managing auxiliary equipment. A dashboard, which will be connected remotely to operating equipment in Conair facilities in Cranberry Township and Franklin, PA, will give customers to see live demonstrations of all features, including the newest remote machine control, resin reporting, KPI prioritization, equipment grouping and other unique functionality.
